Stacey Mendez
For Stacey, art is a lifelong conversation. What began in childhood has evolved into an established practice.
After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from San Jose State University and refining her skills at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, she established her current studio in the Sierra Foothills. There, she focuses on figurative and animal subjects, working primarily in oil and pencil.
Stacey’s work is built from an academic foundation, while carrying an intimate energy that bridges the gap between the contemporary and the classic.
Her commitment to art is matched by her commitment to her community; her work has helped raise funds for organizations like the Menlo Charity Horse Show, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, and the Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation.
Specializing in thoughtfully planned portrait commissions, Stacey works closely with clients to capture the essence of each subject. Her process is one of collaboration and care.
She is currently developing a new series of oil paintings that honors the spirit and dedication of women in their professional elements, continuing her tradition of painting with both purpose and soul.
